The Hymn Project #1: Blessed

Bless-ed to know, Lord
Bless-ed to see
Bless-ed to realize your grace to me

Poor in spirit, Lord
No worth within
Yet here Your Kingdom comes, to save from sin

Mourning in life, Lord
In but not of
Yet I am comforted in Your great love

In meekness struggling
Upon this earth
By this inheritance You give new birth

Bless-ed to know, Lord
Bless-ed to see
Bless-ed to realize your grace to me

Hunger for You, Lord
Your righteousness
My longings satisfied, Your Name I bless

Only the merciful
Can once receive
The grace to find in You their own reprieve

On the pure in heart
You lift Your face
To see what until then they knew by faith

Bless-ed to know, Lord
Bless-ed to see
Bless-ed to realize your grace to me

All those who make peace
You call Your own
Your sons and daughters, Lord, in glory sown

The persecuted
You save a place
In Your heavenly kingdom before Your face

All kinds of evil
They falsely say
Shall never separate me from Your grace

Rejoice! You tell me
And join the throng
The cloud of witnesses with millions strong

Bless-ed to know, Lord
Bless-ed to see
Bless-ed to realize your grace to me

My name is Jeremy Vogan. I live in Staunton, VA with my wife and four kids. I love to write, and seek to honestly explore the intellectual and emotional implications of following Jesus as a deeply broken person in a twisted, cruel world that is full of veiled beauty and meaning. Writing is part of how I faithfully look for Jesus Christ to someday make all things new. I'd enjoy hearing your feedback! JV
