O Lord, we wait for you
Beyond this empty world
You keep in perfect peace, O Lord
All those who wait for you
We have a City strong
Salvation is its wall
You open up its gates, and call
The righteous to come in
Our minds are stayed on you
Our trust is in your word
Our everlasting rock, O Lord
Forever you will be
O Lord, we wait for you
Beyond this empty world
You keep in perfect peace, O Lord
All those who wait for you
The high you have brought low
The lofty you have shamed
And from the dust of earth you named
The needy as your own
You make a level path
You make a level way
Our soul yearns for Your precious Name
And seeks You earnestly
O Lord, we wait for you
Beyond this empty world
You keep in perfect peace, O Lord
All those who wait for you
The needy of this world
Are led in righteousness
By all your judgments we confess
That rule our hearts with grace
O Lord, they do not see
Your majesty in power
Lift high Your Gospel in this hour
And show Your works to all
O Lord, we wait for you
Beyond this empty world
You keep in perfect peace, O Lord
All those who wait for you

My name is Jeremy Vogan. I live in Staunton, VA with my wife and four kids. I love to write, and seek to honestly explore the intellectual and emotional implications of following Jesus as a deeply broken person in a twisted, cruel world that is full of veiled beauty and meaning. Writing is part of how I faithfully look for Jesus Christ to someday make all things new. I'd enjoy hearing your feedback! JV
