Chorus: The Potter and the clay:
“Turn from your evil way.”
Shape me by Your Spirit, Lord,
To worship You today.

A heart that turns away
Your Law will not obey;
We have all rebelled, and gone
Like sheep afar astray.

You saw our wayward wills
All scattered on the hills;
Lost and destitute we were
And yet You loved us still.

Chorus: The Potter and the clay:
“Turn from your evil way.”
Shape me by Your Spirit, Lord,
To worship You today.

You gave Yourself to be
The Lamb to set us free.
Innocent and pure, You stood
To save us, willingly.

You ever stand to lift
Your prayer for us a gift
At the Father’s holy throne,
And send your angels swift.

Chorus: The Potter and the clay:
“Turn from your evil way.”
Shape me by Your Spirit, Lord,
To worship You today.

Our hearts of stone you take
And mercifully break,
Crafting in us a new heart
That to Your grace awakes.

O form in us, O Lord,
By Spirit and by Word
Likeness true of Jesus Christ
Our soul’s delight restored.

Chorus: The Potter and the clay:
“Turn from your evil way.”
Shape me by Your Spirit, Lord,
To worship You today.
