Hebrews 1:2

Hebrews 1:2

Hebrews 1:2  “but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.”

Lord, You are not silent

Though it often seems that You are

As though evil has the upper hand

As though good has stumbled, never to rise again

As though the darkness has overcome the light

As though the kingdom of this world is not to become the Kingdom of our God, and of His Christ

As though He will not reign for ever and ever

Is it unbelief that convinces us of all this, that weighs us down?

Yes, our unbelief, and more than that

It is our not hearing Your Word

That Word which brought being out of nothing

That Word which brought order out of chaos

That Word which became flesh, and made His dwelling among us

The Revelation of God Himself, breaking in on the idolatry and sin of our hearts

We have seen Your glory, glory of the one and only Son

Who came from the Father, full of grace and truth

And in Him we have the prophetic word made more certain

Lord, we are holding onto it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place

Until the day dawns and the morning star rises in our hearts

For in Him there is provided for us an entrance into the eternal kingdom And all our hope is in You. Amen

My name is Jeremy Vogan. I live in Staunton, VA with my wife and four kids. I love to write, and seek to honestly explore the intellectual and emotional implications of following Jesus as a deeply broken person in a twisted, cruel world that is full of veiled beauty and meaning. Writing is part of how I faithfully look for Jesus Christ to someday make all things new. I'd enjoy hearing your feedback! JV
