Hebrews 1:5

Hebrews 1:5

Hebrews 1:5  “For to which of the angels did God ever say, ‘You are my Son, today I have begotten you’? Or again, ‘I will be to him a father,
and he shall be to me a son’?”

t is not to angels that our worship is lifted, Lord

For even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a Gospel contrary to the one given

Let them be accursed

It is not power that we worship

It is not appearance

It is not position or regard

It is not wisdom

It is not brilliance

We will not lift up our souls to any idol on earth or even in heaven

But we will serve You only, Lord

I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice:

“Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?”

And I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy

But one of the elders said to me:

“Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that He can open the scroll and its seven seals”

And I saw a Lamb, standing as though it had been slain

And we fell down before Him and sang a new song:

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”

You alone, Lord Jesus, are our hope in life and death

Amen

My name is Jeremy Vogan. I live in Staunton, VA with my wife and four kids. I love to write, and seek to honestly explore the intellectual and emotional implications of following Jesus as a deeply broken person in a twisted, cruel world that is full of veiled beauty and meaning. Writing is part of how I faithfully look for Jesus Christ to someday make all things new. I'd enjoy hearing your feedback! JV
